About the decimal to fraction converter
Terminating decimals convert exactly: the digits become the numerator, a power of ten becomes the denominator, and both are reduced by their greatest common divisor. Repeating decimals use the classic nines method, so 0.3 with repeating 3 becomes 30/90 = 1/3. Results above one also show a mixed number, such as 2 1/2 for 2.5. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Questions
Is anything uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How do repeating decimals work?
Type the non-repeating part in the decimal field and the digits that repeat in the repeating field. For 0.333… enter 0.3 with repeating 3 (or just 0 with repeating 3) and you get 1/3. The tool uses the nines method: the repeating block is placed over 9, 99, 999 and so on, then reduced.
