Find any square footage

Work out the square footage of a room, floor or plot: enter length and width for rectangles, a diameter for circles, or base and height for triangles — and get the area in square feet, square meters, square yards and acres instantly. Add a price per square foot to estimate cost. Everything runs in your browser: free, private, no sign-up.

Private by design — every calculation runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

1

Pick a shape and unit

Choose Rectangle, Circle, Triangle or Multiple rooms, and measure in feet or meters.

2

Enter your measurements

Type the dimensions. The area updates instantly in sq ft, sq m, sq yd and acres.

3

Estimate cost

Optionally add a price per square foot to see the total cost for flooring, paint or turf.

Worked example

A standard bedroom that measures 12 ft long by 10 ft wide has an area of 12 × 10 = 120 sq ft (about 11.15 sq m, or 13.33 sq yd). If flooring costs $4.50 per sq ft, covering that room costs 120 × 4.50 = $540. For an L-shaped room, split it into two rectangles with the Multiple rooms mode and the calculator adds them together for you.

Questions

How many square feet in a square yard?

There are 9 square feet in a square yard (a yard is 3 feet, and 3 × 3 = 9). To convert square feet to square yards, divide by 9 — this calculator shows the sq yd figure automatically.

How do I measure an L-shaped room?

Split the L into two rectangles, measure each one, and add the areas together. Use the Multiple rooms mode here: enter each rectangle as its own row and the calculator sums them for you. Blank rows are ignored.

How do I convert square feet to square meters?

Multiply square feet by 0.0929 (more precisely 0.092903) to get square meters. For example, 120 sq ft × 0.0929 ≈ 11.15 sq m. The result panel shows this conversion for every calculation.

Is anything uploaded?

No. All calculations run entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and the tool is free with no sign-up.
