Is my bill amount uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole calculation runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.
How does the round-up option work?
When it is on, each person's share is rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. The calculator then works backwards and shows the effective tip percentage that rounding produces, so you always know what you actually tipped.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
Convention is to tip on the pre-tax subtotal, but many people simply tip on the final total. The difference is small — enter whichever amount you prefer and the math works the same way.
